It's a small restaurant and only few tables. Compared to before the sizing of the food got smaller and the taste not as good as before.

Very authentic Taiwanese restaurant. We ordered quite a few dishes and all of them were really good (and this is coming from someone who has been spoiled by all the good food options available in LA) I am not sure why there are so many one star ratings for the bad service, because we thought the waiters were quite attentive and welcoming. The food came very quickly as well. Definitely will be coming back for more.

Food: 4/5 Classic Taiwanese cafe vibes, the food is one of the better Taiwanese lunch spots in the area. Always recommend stinky tofu if you can try it. (It smells worse than it tastes) Services: 4/5 They are a small cafe restaurant run by a couple of older Asian grandparents. A little slow, a little nonchalant, but that's how you know they've been serving for years. Ambience: 3/5 Like I said, small Taiwanese restaurant. Most people are genuinely there for the food

Absolutely love this restaurant! The food is incredibly delicious, delivering an authentic taste of Taiwan. Despite its small size and simple decor, the cozy ambiance adds to its charm. The staff is exceptionally friendly, providing top-notch service. A bonus is the complimentary hot tea that truly warms the heart. It's not just a meal; it's an experience filled with flavors and warmth. Free parking and easy to find parking. This place is across from Boomers.

Me and my friends' favorite Taiwanese restaurant in Rowland Heights. Food is authentic. Service is friendly. Sometimes they are mean when it's busy, but that's understandable. Price is good too. I usually get Togo orders from here. It's better you call ahead.

Food - pretty much best for the price in this category IMO but I can't give them a 5 since they still have variable in their quality Service - they need to make sure each table is covered or at least check few times, lots of times I see customers look around try to find waitresses but has to wait long time to get served Ambiance- dinning area is small so you need to get there early to secure a table or make reservations, it doesn't look fancy or even look shabby compare to other places but it reminds me of Taiwan so I can give it a 3 loll

We visited the area and stopped by to try based on reviews and we were happy we did! Bottom line is we tasted 'authentic feel' we haven't experienced anywhere else. We aren't sure if it was the ingredients or the recipe, the taste put us back in local food we experienced in Taipei. Everything we had (pictured below) were excellent.

This place is so stinky tofu good, I almost don't want to share this awesome restaurant. Honestly, Java Cafe doesn't really exist even if you put in the word Taiwanese into the search. But perhaps after this review, that will change. This place falls in line with Freddy Wongs 3.5 stars rule. You're not sure what that means? Basically, an authentic dining experience with terrific food and shoddy service. Yes, that's correct. We ordered dishes that was wonderful including their 3 cup chicken (OMG, so much ginger and with a deep and rich sauce), pork and chive dumplings (such a simple dish but this place is stupid good), Taiwanese sausage lunch set and a Pork chop lunch set. The Taiwanese sausage doesn't have that preserved taste and the Pork chop is deep fried Taiwanese style. The lunch sets comes with side of stir fried bean sprouts and a tea drink. It kind of reminds me of my childhood eats. It's that good. Oh, did I also mention their Beef Noodle soup is terrific here? It has a hint of spice but not overwhelming. The noodles aren't too thick nor too thin. The beef pieces were tender and flavorful. I am going to order this again next time just for myself. (insert greedy smiley face) We drove from Vegas and came straight to here and arrived around 2pm. They do close to rest at 2:30pm and an elderly couple was denied lunch at 2:15pm because they had lots of cleaning to do. Yes, probably from our table as well. I have to say, we were lucky to have to be seated and had probably my best Taiwanese meal in the past 5 years. They serve complimentary boiled peanuts here. I ate them all. I haven't had this style of peanuts in a while. They also have some terrific dishes that I have yet to try like intestines and beef rolls that they were out of the day we were here. We live in the OC and will be coming here on weekends. Don't come here and make my wait any longer. This place only seats about 5-6 parties.
